The International
Olympic Committee has confirmed the new dates of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, postponed for a year due to the spread
of the coronavirus. They will be held from Friday 23 July to Sunday 8 August
2021, exactly one year after the dates originally established (24 July-9 August
2020). The Paralympic Games will take place from Tuesday 24 August to Sunday 5
September.
Even if they have been postponed for a year, the Games will
continue to be officially called "Tokyo
2020 Olympics and Paralympics". It would in fact be impossible for
organizers to correct and replace all the communication produced from 2013
(year of assignment) to today, without also losing the investments made in the
last seven years.
